Who is she?

Its a question I'm still asking myself, and the answer is different most days.

Who is the Optimistic Orphan and why is that the name I've chosen to put out there.

Firstly, Because I am generally, despite a difficult few years, a fairly upbeat person and even when I'm not I'm really trying to be. Secondly because by the age of 30 I had lost both my parents to cancer, and I want to own that word, and make people see that its okay to talk about it and to recognise it.  Losing your parents at any age is heart-breaking and daunting but in early adulthood  when most of your peer groups haven't been through it yet  it can be an incredibly isolating experience.

The person behind the name, is now 31 years old,  a parent  Has a job but wont bore you with the details. Persistent procrastinator and overthinker. Frequently prone to sarcasm which I got from my father and a smart mouth which I apparently got from my mother.

Here to share, to off-load. To remind anyone that needs it that facing some of the worst days of our lives, there will be a day where you smile again.
